Owner & Head Coach
Dutch has been coaching since 2005 and is currently the head weightlifting coach at BlackBox. He specializes in taking weightlifters of all levels through the course of weightlifting excellence. Dutch has been competing in weightlifting at the national level for over 6 years with several top 3 finishes at national events. He has also coached weightlifters at the world championships and various other national and international competitions. He is a father of three spunky children and a husband to the most amazing wife on the planet.
Shanna works as a coach and personal trainer at BlackBox Strength & Conditioning with special focus on the weightlifting program. Having received a B.A. in Athletic Training from Central College and a M.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology emphasis, from Texas A&M, she maintains a desire for fitness progress through sound technical development. She is knowledgable in sport and exercise psychology, nutrition, and general strength and conditioning alongside her athletic training certification (ATC) to offer an eclectic approach to total personal improvement. Her hope is to instill physical activity for life in her clients through education about the immediate and long-lasting benefits a healthy lifestyle bolsters. Athletics always played a significant role in Shanna's life having played volleyball, basketball, softball, and throwing javelin throughout her high school and undergraduate careers. She was introduced to the style of Olympic weightlifting in the spring of 2014 and quickly fell in love with everything about the sport. A nationally competitive athlete, her immediate goal is to become one of the top weightlifters in the country for the 69kg weight class. Beyond BlackBox, Shanna loves exploring new places in and out of the country, meeting up with family and friends for general shenanigans, and relishes trying different venues for food and drinks.
Mona is an adult & youth weightlifting coach, remote coach, and mental skills coach at BlackBox. Originally from South Africa, she has represented her country in weightlifting, karate, and CrossFit. Mona's hobbies and passions include reading and research about the mind – understanding what makes an individual tick and how to incorporate mental toughness with physical preparation to create the best version of you. She LOVES dogs and shopping, and most of all is a summer person, especially when she can be by the beach. Boxing training and looking after her body even in the off season is also very important to her.
Nicki started her journey here at Black Box as a member of the weightlifting team in 2014 and jumped when the opportunity arose to join the staff. As a coach, one of her goals is to be constantly growing and learning by surrounding herself with other knowledgeable athletes and coaches, which is exactly what she found at Black Box. Nicki has been coaching since 2011 with certifications in CrossFit and Olympic Lifting, as well as a license in massage therapy, specializing in sports massage.

Office Manager & Coach
Jessica is the office manager and utility coach at BlackBox, helping with daily logistics in the gym and client relations, as well as coaching weightlifting. Although she didn't get into fitness until her late 20s, through it she discovered weightlifting in 2013 and fell in love with the complicated, frustrating, and yet somehow rewarding sport. Jessica lives in north Fort Worth with her husband David and her retired racer/rescue greyhound Parker. In her free time she loves to road trip, try new physical activities, and eat lots of food. She is currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology with a focus in Clinical Health.
