Dutch has been competing in weightlifting at the national level for over 6 years with several top 3 finishes at national events. He has also coached weightlifters at the world championships and various other national and international competitions.
He is a father of 2 spunky children and a husband to the most amazing wife on the planet.
Blake has been a trainer at BlackBox Fort Worth a little over two years now. He believes in a holistic approach to fitness through responsible training methods, adequate nutrition and sleep, and appropriate stress management. He is also well versed in the world of sports performance and athlete development. With Blake’s guidance and expertise you can start living a healthier lifestyle and achieving your desired fitness goals. He coaches strength and conditioning group classes and is also available for personal training.
Blake graduated with a B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Texas Wesleyan University and is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS). Outside of the gym, Blake enjoys playing recreational sports and spending time with his wife and two dogs.
Growing up Josh never really played a sport other than YMCA soccer and skateboarding. In high school, he began to exercise a lot in his parent’s garage and eventually competed on his high school powerlifting team. Josh rediscovered his love for training and coaching six years ago when he caught the Crossfit bug. Four years later, he started personal training and coaching full time. He is a certified personal trainer and has attended various courses such as USAW Sport Performance and Crossfit Weightlifting. Weightlifting is what he love doing now and hopes to eventually qualify for a national event.
Josh lives in Fort Worth with his wife, Alex, and two dogs Nala and Kato. Time away from the gym is spent relaxing, watch movies, read, and spend some quality time with family and friends.
Kristin is a trainer who specializes in weight loss. As someone who has battled being overweight, Kristin teaches a balanced approach to exercise and nutrition so that you feel both happy and healthy. With her help and knowledge, you will get stronger while losing weight and keeping it off. She is available for personal training, and coaches the Strength and Conditioning classes.
Kristin graduated from the University of North Texas in 2007, but with about 40 extra pounds. It was then she found a love for fitness, and began running with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training. She has completed 4 half marathons, a triathlon, countless 5K, and dabbled in boxing, gymnastics, and crossfit. Today she focuses her training on Olympic Lifting. Outside of BlackBox, Kristin and her husband love to travel, spend time with family, or just cuddling with their two corgis.
Shanna works as a coach and personal trainer at BlackBox Strength & Conditioning with special focus on the weightlifting program. Having received a B.A. in Athletic Training from Central College and a M.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology emphasis, from Texas A&M, she maintains a desire for fitness progress through sound technical development. She is knowledgable in sport and exercise psychology, nutrition, and general strength and conditioning alongside her athletic training certification (ATC) to offer an eclectic approach to total personal improvement. Her hope is to instill physical activity for life in her clients through education about the immediate and long-lasting benefits a healthy lifestyle bolsters.
Athletics always played a significant role in Shanna’s life having played volleyball, basketball, softball, and throwing javelin throughout her high school and undergraduate careers. She was introduced to the style of Olympic weightlifting in the spring of 2014 and quickly fell in love with everything about the sport. After competing in the American Open this past December, her next goal is to qualify for Nationals within the year. Beyond BlackBox, Shanna loves exploring new places in and out of the country, meeting up with family and friends for general shenanigans, and relishes trying different venues for food and drinks.
