Kris Nordyke walked through BlackBox’s front doors in May 2011, around the time the gym first opened. She worked next door and was curious about the new gym opening up, so she decided to check it out. She met Dutch and got the spill about healthy choices with both food and exercise and joined the group class. Kris started out lifting 20kg for snatch, 20kg on the Clean and Jerk, 40kg for back squat, and various other similar numbers for front squat, clean, and jerk. Meet Katie Cantrell, who for years had issues with her diet. It started when she was an infant, her mom thought she was allergic to cereal. However, by the time she was four, she was diagnosed with asthma and more allergies. Her digestive system wasn’t the best and she couldn’t eat simple things like fruit and vegetables without taking medicine. By the time she was in high school, she had to start taking vitamins since she had no B12 and D in her body and medicine for her troubled thyroid.
Then she lost half her liver to a benign tumor. Suddenly, Katie could no longer carry things up the stairs to her apartment and lost the ability to get off the floor. It was time to find a personal trainer to help her gain her strength back.

Everyone over the age of thirty knows the signs. Kurt was a healthy six foot male reminiscing when he weighed in the 180′s. Each year he would go in for his physical and each year there is another pound. The years go by, the pounds add up and eventually you must face your problem: It’s the creep!
That pound per year seemed fine to Kurt until ten to twenty years went by. The years left him a victim of the creep and now, instead of one pound per year, it became closer to five and tipping the scale at 220. He dreaded his annual physical, with good reason. “Lose 10% of it” comes the doctor’s orders. A regular life for this 12 year old boy: girls, social media and food. Except this 12 year old has one big goal that he know he needs to get to working on now.
