I found out about BlackBox through Dutch, whose children attend the same preschool as mine. I am an attorney and mother of two young children, and somehow along the way had lost sight of prioritizing my fitness and wellbeing. Eventually I reached out to Dutch, because I realized I could be a better mother and wife if I took the time to really get myself in shape, both physically and mentally.
BlackBox has helped immensely with both of those things. I had tried other programs, with little success, mainly because I had difficulty committing the time to programs I didn’t enjoy. After speaking with Dutch, I began working with Kristin, who took the time to listen to where I was at physically and mentally, and coached me through a lot of the mental blocks I had placed on myself in terms of my capabilities.
Whereas other programs I had tried had trainers who looked at me as a personal goal for THEM, in terms of how much THEY could achieve with THEIR programs, Kristin remained focused on MY goals and finding the best way to help me achieve them. I actively look forward to my workouts in the strength and conditioning classes, which I have never experienced before. I am, for the first time in my life, fully committed to a workout program, instead of a three or four month stint at a gym here and there, every couple of years.
BlackBox broke the stereotype I had of gyms- it’s truly a community of people who support and encourage you, pushing you enough to achieve your goals, without breaking you before you get there. I especially appreciate the class schedule, as there are enough options to always make a workout, even if life gets hectic and I need to move things around.
Since I began working at BlackBox, I feel so much healthier physically, have been amazed at the strength and endurance they have helped me build, and have experienced much less stress and anxiety while handling my other obligations. I cannot recommend BlackBox enough.
